John “Jack” Bucchioni Founder & Host, Blue Coast Talk 

Life's Work

John “Jack” Bucchioni career has spanned education, athletics, international business, communications, journalism, government affairs, and community advocacy.

Born in Boston and raised in New York, Bucchioni graduated from Bloomsburg State College. He was a player on the college football team and remains connected to the university as well as many of his former football teammates he came to know during his college years.

Following college, Bucchioni continued his football career by playing minor-league professional football, adding next level up playing experience to his background as a college athlete. He later continued his involvement in the game as a high school coach.

During the 1970s, Bucchioni served on the varsity football staff at Johnson City High School in New York, where he worked under head coach Chuck Gottfried, a veteran NFL coach who had just served as offensive line coach with the Buffalo Bills.

Working with a coach who had NFL experience helped shape Bucchioni's approach to coaching, leadership, and player development. His career at Johnson City High School concluded with four consecutive Southern Tier Conference championships.

Education & Storytelling

Education has been a recurring theme throughout Bucchioni's career.

He began professionally as a school teacher, then graduate school educator after finishing his master's degree from Binghamton University. There is where he met television producer and screenwriter Rod Serling.

Serling became an important mentor and influence during Bucchioni's graduate-school years, helping shape Bucchioni's appreciation for communications, storytelling, and the power of ideas.

Those interests would continue to influence Bucchioni throughout his career and eventually become an important part of his work in journalism, public affairs, and media.

International Business & Executive Career

Bucchioni subsequently spent nearly three decades in senior management positions in business, holding profit-and-loss responsibilities in areas including sales, marketing, operations, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, and OEM design.

His business career included consumer products and organizations serving national and international markets.

The experience provided Bucchioni with extensive travel  exposure to worldwide business leadership, organizational management, operations, manufacturing, sales, marketing, finance, and international markets. As a direct result he has been appointed to mentor MBA students at the Wharton School, University Of Pennsylvania.

Communications, Television & Journalism

Bucchioni's communications background has included television, publishing, public speaking, and journalism.

He was a repeat guest host on the QVC Television Network and has worked in sports media.

His experience in education, athletics, business, communications, and media ultimately came together in his work as a journalist and public-affairs host.

That experience ultimately led to the creation of Blue Coast Talk.

Blue Coast Talk is an independent Delaware media and public-affairs operation founded in 2018.

Based in Sussex County, Delaware, Blue Coast Talk provides video and audio programming focused on Delaware politics, government, community issues, investigative stories, business, culture, the arts, and the people and issues shaping the state.

As founder and host, Bucchioni has made Blue Coast Talk a platform for conversations with local leaders, entrepreneurs, community advocates, and others whose work and experiences are important to Delaware communities.

The program's video format broadcasting has allowed Blue Coast Talk to reach audiences through multiple channels, including visual, audio only,  direct transmission, OTT, YouTube, Facebook, Roku, Fire TV Channels, and eigteen other social-media platforms similtaniously.

2025 Recognition

In 2025, the Delaware Press Association voted Blue Coast Talk as Delaware's Top Podcast.

The recognition was part of the Delaware Press Association State and National Federation of Press Women Awards in 2025.

Ownership

Blue Coast Talk was founded and is owned by Jack Bucchioni.

Since its inception, Bucchioni has remained actively involved as the face of the podcast, serving as host and driving its editorial vision.

With a background spanning education, athletics, international business, communications, journalism, and community affairs, Bucchioni has built Blue Coast Talk around local perspectives and conversations about the issues and opportunities shaping Delaware.

Community, Education & Leadership

Bucchioni remains committed to education, mentoring, community involvement, and storytelling.

He believes effective leadership is ultimately about giving people opportunities, accepting responsibility, and helping others develop the confidence and ability to succeed on their own.

His career has taken him through classrooms, football fields, corporate boardrooms, television studios, and news and public-affairs programming. Across those different environments, the underlying focus has remained consistent: people, leadership, communication, and the exchange of ideas.

The Work Continues

Today, through Blue Coast Talk and his continuing involvement in education, athletic journalism, and community affairs, Bucchioni remains focused on one central idea:
